Official Game Rules
Top Flight RL runs on a clear, fair simulation framework. No pay-to-win, no random chaos. Strategy rules. Every result, transfer and decision is grounded in real logic - not luck. Here's how it works:
1. League System
- There are two main public leagues - one based in Europe, one in Australia. All global rankings and leaderboards are drawn from these.
- Managers can also create private leagues for smaller groups or custom competitions, but results there do not affect the public rankings.
- Each league season runs for 18 rounds (home and away). Promotion and relegation are automatic between divisions.
- When all fixtures conclude, the league can progress to the new season, with all players increasing in age.
2. Match Engine
- Matches are simulated using a detailed engine that evaluates player attributes, tactical decisions, chemistry, form, weather and morale.
- This is not a simple random generator. The engine models every possession, territory swing, and decision as a consequence of underlying team data and tactical intent.
- Randomness exists only for realism. Preparation, balance, and consistency are what separate great managers from lucky ones.
3. Tactics & Training
- Your tactical setup directly determines how your team performs. Attack patterns, defensive balance, and fatigue management all feed into match outcomes.
- Training intensity and focus shape player development and team cohesion. But push too hard and injuries or burnout can strike.
- Adaptability is key. No one tactic works forever. Evolve as your squad and opponents change.
4. Scouting, Transfers & Recruitment
- Teams can buy and sell players between clubs, both within and across leagues, but detailed ratings are hidden until scouted.
- Scouting reveals true ability - without it, transfer decisions carry risk. Build your network wisely.
- Transfer funds, infrastructure and squad morale must be managed carefully. Overspending or reckless trading can destabilise a club.
5. Finances & Club Operations
- Income comes from ticket sales, sponsors, and on-field success. Expenses include coaches, scouting and facility upkeep.
- The fans are always watching your operations. If they become dissatisfied, this will affect your home performance.
6. Conduct & Fair Play
- Multiple accounts are strictly prohibited. Each manager may control one team only.
- Collusion between managers - including sharing scouting data or insider information - is not allowed and will lead to permanent bans.
- Exploiting bugs, automating decisions, or manipulating results undermines the competitive balance and will be treated as cheating.
- Respectful conduct is expected at all times. Play fair, play smart, and earn your place at the top.
